The Board of Directors of the Gilbert-Sumit Rural Water District meet monthly on the fourth Tuesday of each month or as otherwise posted except December. Meetings are held at the offices at 136 Hampton Street, Gilbert, SC 29054 and begin at 6:00 pm except for August. Please note that the August regular monthly meeting follows the Annual Meeting as set out below.
An annual meeting is held on the fourth Tuesday in August each year starting at 6:30pm. All members are welcome and encouraged to attend.
Members of the District are welcome to attend any of these meetings. To be placed on the agenda to address the board, notice of at least 24 hours' prior to the meeting must be given to the GSRWD office staff to amend the agenda.

- Estimated Cost: $1.5 Million Dollars
- Need for Project: Growth in Gilbert requires additional water sources, while naturally occurring radium in the area demands radium treatment
- Alternatives: Do nothing; enforce restrictions; find other sources
- Rationale for SRF Funding: Addresses the over-pumping of current wells and provides a long-term solution to capacity, PFAS, and radium treatment issues in private wells in the area

- Project Description: Extension of existing water line along Shore Rd. to supply radium-and-PFAS-free drinking water to the residents of Siesta Cove
- Estimated Cost: $1.48 Million Dollars
- Need for Project: The wells at Siesta Cove, along with other private wells along Shore Rd. and Keisler Rd., currently experience high levels of radium and PFAS that threaten regulatory compliance
- Alternatives: Do nothing; require Siesta Cove to install treatment facilities; extend the GSRWD line
- Rationale for SRF Funding: Addresses contamination issues for the residents of Siesta Cove and the surrounding areas in the most affordable and practical way possible
- Potential Impacts: Very little disturbance to the wetlands environmentally, with little to no impact on the community financially
